Greetings to my friends in wood

2009 was an unusual year to be in the urban forestry end of the lumber business. Sales were better than 2008 mostly because the green building movement is catching on in the Midwest. I sold out of stock hardwood flooring and a portion of my inventory to fill orders. Then because of fair weather and very little in the way of residential tree removal the supply of urban logs all but dried up. The plus side of the down economy for me was that commercial sawmill prices for architectural woods in 1000+ bf quantities is down enough that I can purchase commonly used woods that I’d ordinarily be sawing and still sell at my less-than-retail pricing. Following, in no particular order, are some items of note that I have available for immediate pick-up or shipment (deduct 10% for 100 bd. ft. +):
